Beach cleansing

Great Yarmouth Services Ltd ensures that Great Yarmouth's and Gorleston's beaches are kept clean, tidy and safe for residents and visitors. The areas maintained also includes their peripheral roads, areas, accesses (slopes, steps and paths) and car parks.   

Services are conducted on a regular basis; however, a once-a-year initial deep cleanse of the beaches is undertaken in the lead up to Whitsun Bank Holiday. The beaches are thoroughly cleansed of all litter and detritus, including any and all accumulations of seaweed.

Promenades and roads which are near to beaches and slipways become covered, on occasions, with quantities of sand, shingle or tidal debris.  We clear this material and clean sand is returned to the beach. Contaminated sand which has litter and debris present will be removed.
